3 Pros and Cons to Meal Prepping

Eating healthy is a habit that supports our weight, energy levels, body functions and mental health! It’s an important part of maintaining good health but it can also be hard to do when we are overwhelmed with busy schedules and convenient fast food.

This is something that I’ve always struggled with, so last week I finally decided to give meal prepping a go. I’ve heard a lot of good things about it over the past few years and figured it never hurts to try!

I’ve broken down the top 3 pros and cons that I’ve noticed down below, and I even included the most delicious homemade salad dressing recipe at the end.

THE PROS

  1. It’s super convenient to be able to grab healthy meals and go.

  2. It’s an easy way to save money if you’re shopping sales.

  3. It’s a fun way to spend time with your significant other or kids.

THE CONS

  1. If you’re only prepping one or two dishes it can get old, fast.

  2. It’s a waste if you don’t eat what you prepped in time (unless you freeze it).

  3. It takes time to get into the habit and routine of meal prepping.

As you can see, meal prepping has it’s benefits and its setbacks. Personally, I’m going to be sticking with it for awhile because so far it seems to be the only way that I can manage to eat as much I should.

Stay tuned, as once I have a little more experience with it, I’ll be sharing some of my favourite meal prep tips, tricks and recipes.
